The 2018/2019 UEFA Champions League kicked off across eight different centers in Europe with Henry Onyekuru the only Nigerian to test victory on the night whilst left-back Bryan Idowu made his official debut for Lokomotiv Moscow.

Henry Onyekuru and Bryan Idowu: Both players were in action for their respective clubs in Galatasaray’s 3-0 thrashing of Lokomotiv Moscow with Balogun playing for the entire match duration.

The former Amker Perm defender started his first game of the season and picked up a yellow card for the visitors in the 60th minute as goals from Garry Rodrigues, Eren Derdiyok and a late penalty from Selluk ensured the hosts started their campaign on a high.

Despite starting his side’s first four games of the season Onyekuru was named on the bench for the second consecutive match was introduced with 8 minutes left, with his side going on to claim all three points.
