Simon against South Africa in 2019 AFCON Qualifier
Super Eagles’ and UD Levante forward, Moses Simon believes next week’s AFCON 2019 qualification clash against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya will be tough but the team will not underrate their opponents, reports.
The Eagles’ returnee, who spoke to exclusively ahead of his club’s weekend clash against Getafe, stated that all the invited players know what is at stake and will all play to ensure Nigeria returns to the Nations Cup for the first time in six years.
“Libya are a good side and we can’t underrate them. I believe all the players know about this already. We missed out on the last two editions of the competition so that should be enough motivation for us going into this match.
“I believe anybody the coach selects on match day will defend the colours of the country because we know how important this match is for the entire country,” Moses said.
Moses last played for Nigeria in a March pre-World Cup preparatory game against Serbia and will be hoping to add to his 20 senior caps for Nigeria when they file out against Libya next Saturday.
