Onyekuru in his first training at Galatasaray

Super Eagles’ and Galatasaray of Turkey forward, Henry Onyekuru has been ruled out of action for up to ten days after picking up a hamstring injury prior to his side’s 1-1 draw at home to Bursaspor on Friday night, can authoritatively confirm.

The on-loan Everton forward was omitted from Friday night’s matchday squad and will now sit out Galatasaray’s midweek Champions League clash at home to Schalke 04, with the forward also a doubt for next weekend’s league clash away to Yeni Melatyaspor.

Onyekuru is however expected to be fit for Nigeria’s crunch AFCON qualifiers against South Africa and should return to action before the end of the month with for Galatasaray’s important clash with arch-rivals Fernabahce next month.

Onyekuru has been a key part of the club’s attack this season, scoring twice in the league to help them to the top of the Super Liga table after 9 rounds of matches.
