Super Eagles’ defender, Kenneth Omeruo continued his impressive form for Leganes, starting his fourth straight game in their comeback 2-2 draw at home to Rayo Vallecano in the Copa del Rey, AOIFootball.com reports.
Omeruo, who was making his Spanish Cup bow, started in the heart of Leganes’ defence, but it was the visitors who raced to a two-goal lead courtesy of strikes from Alvaro Garcia in the 15th minute and Alex Alegria six minutes later.
Moroccan striker, Youssef En-Nesyri then halved the deficit after the hour mark before he completed the comeback 18 minutes from time, with both sides facing off in the second leg to decide who progresses to the next round.
“Debut #copadelrey; good fight from the team to come back from two goals down. Congrats to Youseff for the two goals,” Omeruo posted after the match.
Omeruo was on for the entire match duration and had an impressive game rating of 7.1, making 2 clearances, 1 blocked shots, 1 interception and completed 100% of his tackles.
He also won 4 of his 7 duels contested and completed 88% of his passes.
