Super Eagles’ defender, Chidozie Awaziem has revealed he is a happy man after finally making his first appearance for Portuguese giants FC Porto in their Taca de Liga win at home to Varzim, AOIFootball.com reports.
The 21-year-old had found playing time hard to come by since returning on loan from French club FC Nantes, featuring mostly on the bench for FC Porto, a situation that led to him dropping in the pecking order in the Super Eagles.
He however featured in his first official game for the club since the 2015/2016 season, partnering Chancel Mbemba with Porto running out 4-2 winners on the night.
“So happy to play my first official game; it was a difficult game but glad we got all 3 points….força Porto,” Awaziem posted afterwards.
With the winter transfer window close by, the Eagles’ defender could consider leaving the club on loan to get more playing time, especially with the 2019 Nations Cup just around the corner.
