New rave of the moment and Super Eagles’ invitee, Samuel Chukweze, continued to hit the headline for the right reasons in Spain, putting up a decent shift to help Villarreal to a 1-1 draw at home to Levante, reports.
Chukwueze, who scored his first professional goal for Villarreal at the midweek, was rewarded with his first league outing since his promotion from the B team earlier this season.
After a drab first half where both teams failed to test each other, former Everton player Ramiro Funes Mori put through his own goal to give Levante the lead after 77 minutes before Alfonso Pedraza equalized to salvage a point for the hosts three minutes into injury time.
The former Golden Eaglets’ star was on for the entire 90 minutes, earning a match rating of 7.8, completing 79% of his passes, completing 80% of his dribbles and winning 6 of his 9 duels contested.
He also brought his defensive capabilities to light, completing 100% of his tackles and making one blocked shot to cap off a memorable league debut.
The draw, however, leaves Villarreal on 16th position on the log with 10 points from their opening 11 fixtures.
