Super Eagles midfielder, Mikel Agu has disclosed that he still remains committed to Portuguese club, Vitoria Setubal despite speculations linking him with a move away from the club, reports.
The on-loan Porto player was recalled for Nigeria’s upcoming clashes against South Africa and Uganda and he told exclusively that he will honour his contract with the modest Portuguese outfit.
“Transfers and speculations are always part of the game; few months ago when I left Turkey there where different stories of where I would play my football, but now I’m here in Setubal and enjoying my football again.
“So for me, I’m happy here and want to focus on the game itself and not the other part of it. So Setubal remains my focus for now,” Agu said.
However, can authoritatively confirm that the Nigerian is being tracked by some clubs in the French Ligue 1 but it’s very unlikely that he will be ending his loan deal with Setubal despite the winter transfer window less than two months away.
Agu, 25, has featured in 7 matches this season for Setubal since joining on transfer deadline day, averaging a game rating of 6.78, completing 76% of his passes, 100% of his dribbles and winning 73%, 51% of his tackles and duels contested.
