Super Eagles’ and CD Leganes defender, Kenneth Omeruo has vowed to remain consistent on and off the pitch in order to cement his place in the team’s first eleven, AOIFootball.com reports.
The Chelsea loanee has been making the headline in Spain following a series of impressive performances and he told AOIFootball.com exclusively ahead of their weekend clash against Girona, that he will continue to fight for every ball.
“I’m someone who always wants to win and fights for every ball, so right now I’m playing and I want to keep it that way because I don’t want the position to slip away,” Omeruo said.
When asked about the secret in his change of form, the AFCON 2013 winning star revealed that prayer and focus, coupled with his ability to want to learn has helped him so far.
“I don’t think there is a lot of secrets; prayer, focus and I’m always ready to learn. I’m learning everything that I need right now in this league and my coach takes time to explain and correct me,” Omeruo concluded.
Since making his debut in a 1-0 win over Rayo Vallecano last month, he has gone on to make four more appearances, starting in all, including a fantastic display in a 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid last weekend.
With four LaLiga matches under his belt, Omeruo has averaged a game rating of 6.98, completing 85% of his passes, winning 68% of his duels contested and also making an average of 6 clearances per game.
