Super Eagles midfielder, Joel Obi scored his first goal of the season for strugglers Chievo Verona as they continued their search for their first win of the season, playing out a 2-2 draw at home to Bologna, reports.
Obi was startling his 5th league game of the season after recently just returning from injury but it was the visitors who drew first blood when Federico Santander put them ahead after three minutes before the hosts levelled matters in the 20th minute after Riccardo Meggiorini converted from 12 yards.
Chievo then completed the turn around on the stroke of half-time when Obi reacted quickest to slam home Meggiorini’s header to put his side 2-1 up going into the break.
Still, without a win from their opening 11 fixtures, Chievo were pegged back 11 minutes into the second half when Riccardo Orsolini struck for the visitors before Obi was replaced three minutes to the end of the clash after picking up a knock.
The result still leaves Chievo Verona without a win this season but cancels their negative points tally, as they seat bottom of the table with zero point from their opening 12 matches.
