Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi capped off a fine outing for Nigerian players across the globe as he was named in’s Team of the Week for the U-21 players across the globe, reports.

The Nigerian, who was impressive for Leicester City at the weekend, is one of three Premier League players named alongside Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold and Tottenham Juan Foyth, with Ndidi partnering Lyon’s Houssem Aouar at the middle of the park.

With a game rating of 7.96 Ndidi and Leicester were held 0-0 at home by Burnley on Saturday. The Foxes will feel unfortunate not to have come away with all three points and Wilfred Ndidi was particularly impressive for Claude Puel’s side.

“The Nigerian remarkably won 10 aerial duels, whilst also completing five tackles and interceptions combined. Ndidi also had five efforts on goal and registered two key passes in an all-action display,” Whoscored said.

Having picked up two yellow cards during the AFCON 2019 qualifiers, the 21-year-old will, however, sit out Nigeria’s upcoming match against South Africa.

This would be the first time Ndidi would not be available for selection since he made his debut for Nigeria in October 2015.
