Former Nigeria international, George Abbey has thrown his support behind the Super Eagles when they take on South African in a AFCON 2019 qualifier on Saturday, AOIFootball.com reports.
The former Crewe Alexander defender, who played against South Africa at the 2004 Nations Cup in Tunisia when Nigeria defeated them 4-0, further revealed that he misses his time with the national team.
“All the best to the guys. I miss my time with the team. #UpEagles,” Abbey posted.
The 40-year-old represented Nigeria between 2003-2007, winning 18 caps and was a member of the AFCON 2004 squad in Tunisia that won bronze after defeating Mali 2-1 in the losers final.
