Super Eagles’ Head Coach, Gernot Rohr has revealed that the game against Uganda will offer him the opportunity to assess some of his fringe players as he hopes to build a formidable squad that will represent Nigeria at next year’s AFCON in Cameroon, reports.
The Franco-German, who spoke to shortly after the Eagles’ training session on Monday night, further revealed that he will grant both Afelokia and Akpeyi a chance to show what they have for the team.
“We will change up to the goalkeepers. I want to see everybody, you know this kind of matches are to test the depth of the squad, so I will give every opportunity to the players to show what they can bring to the national team.
“That’s why they will be a lot of changes. The goalkeeper will play 45 minutes each and even Ajayi will start, whilst Idowu who did not play in South Africa will also start. So it will be a good game to watch,” Rohr concluded.
Rohr will be targeting his 20th win with the national team after failing to do so over the weekend against South Africa in Johannesburg.
