Super Eagles’ Coach, Gernot Rohr has once again defended his choice of not selecting local league players for his team’s matches, revealing that he has not really seen the players that can give the foreign-based lads a run for their money, AOIFootball.com reports.
The Franco-German, however, urged the League Management Company to try and organize the league in similar standard with the European leagues to help boost the chances of the players to get into his team.
“If you want to scout there must be games. The last game of the league already ended two or three months ago, so you cannot scout when there are no games. I cannot take local players who are not playing and cannot show that they are better than the players in Europe.
“So there is a problem of the organization of the local league and we have three local players already here with us. We are searching with my assistant but we don’t find better players in the league,” Rohr concluded.
