Nigerian midfielder, Ifeanyi Matthew has continued to attract interests from major European clubs following another impressive season at Norway based club Lillestrom, the latest being clubs from Belgium and Holland, AOIFootball.com can authoritatively confirm.
The 21-year-old midfielder was in action over the weekend and told AOIFootball.com exclusively that he’s grateful for a successful season after helping Lillestrom escape the drop.
“It’s been a good season for me. I’m happy we were able to escape the drop which guarantees us another chance to play at the top flight for another season,” Matthew said
On reports linking him away from the club, the former CHAN Eagles star told AOIFootball.com that he has received some offers and will make a decision when the transfer window opens in January.
“Yes, there have been offers from several clubs- some in Belgium and Holland too, but I have a contract here in Norway and I respect the club. So we will just see what will happen in January, Ifeanyi,” he concluded.
Matthew joined Lillestrom in 2016 from El-Kanemi and has been a regular member of the squad but with less than 20 months on his contract, the club could be looking to cash out on the player with the current demand for him on the high.
