Super Eagles’ forward, Michael Babatunde scored his first league goal for Moroccan club Wydad Athletic club in their 3-0 win against FUS Rabat in a rescheduled league match played at the Shade Muhammed V Stadium in Casablanca, reports.
With Wydad bottom of the table before kickoff, the 2014 World Cup star opened scoring for the home side after 28 minutes, when he swiftly turned his marker inside out before powerfully unleashing a low shot with his left foot which left the Rabat goalkeeper struggling.
William Jabor made it 2-0 three minutes after the hour mark before Babatunde was replaced in the 79th minute by Amin Tighazoui with Mohammed Ounnajem completing the scoring one minute into stoppage time to give Wydad their third win of the season.
After the game, the 25-year-old told that he was happy to have scored his first league goal of the season and hopes the team can build on the win in their subsequent matches.
The win takes Wydad, which still has four outstanding matches to 10th on the log with 9 points from 5 games played.
