Super Eagles midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo had an evening to forget for Stoke as he received his first red card in England for a clumsy challenge when 10-man Stoke City held on to beat Derby County 2-1 at the Bet365 Stadium, AOIFootball.com reports.
Sam Clucas opened the scoring for the Potters in the 24th minute, slotting calmly past Scott Carson after a delightful through-ball from Joe Allen.
However, tempers soon spilled over when Etebo was dismissed for a recklessly high and ugly challenge on defender Keogh, sparking a massive melee involving both sides.
Derby appeared to be making their numerical advantage count early in the second period when a Harry Wilson free-kick restored parity before Tom Ince grabbed an unlikely winner for the home team.
With the red card, Etebo could miss his side’s next three fixtures if found guilty of violent conduct by the referee’s match report.
