Super Eagles’ forward, Samuel Chukwueze has rued Villarreal’s loss to Barcelona at the Camp Nou last Sunday, whilst saying that it was special for him to have played against Lionel Messi, reports.
Chukwueze told after the game that it was a huge honour for him to have shared the pitch with a player like Messi and hopes to continue developing and become one of the best players in the world.
“It was a special match for me; the fans, the stadium it was massive. The experience of playing against such a player and team will always be there for me but unfortunately, we could not beat them at their own backyard.
“He’s so calm on the ball, doesn’t talk at all and lets his feet do the talking. I like the way he plays and I definitely learnt somethings from him,” Chukwueze said.
The former U-17 World Cup winner will now turn his attention to his side’s Copa del Rey second leg clash against Almeria as they need a win to scale through after both sides played out an entertaining 3-3 draw in the first leg with Chukwueze scoring in that match.
