Super Eagles’ midfielder, Eddy Ogenyi Onazi capped off a fantastic week as he returned to help Trabzonspor to a comprehensive 3-0 win over Konyaspor on matchday 15 of the Turkey Super Liga, AOIFootball.com reports.
The 25-year-old was in the news all week, both on and off the field and proved his rating as the best ball winning midfielder in the division was no fluke when he stole the ball from his opponent before going on to score a solo goal.
After a goalless first half, Hugo Rodallega put the hosts ahead after 76 minutes firing in from 12 yards before Caleb Ekuban doubled Trabzonspor’s lead 40 seconds later to make it 2-0.
Onazi then got among the scorers sheet with one minute of regulation time left, robbing his opponent of the ball in the heart of the midfield before producing a solo run to slot pass the Konyaspor goal keeper for his sides third and his second goal of the season.
Onazi was adjudged Man of the Match with a game rating of 8.2, completing 90.5% of his passes, winning six duels and also winning three of his four tackles.
The win moves Trabzonspor to 4th on the log with 25 points from 15 games but they could return to fifth if Galatasary gets a win in their match also.
