The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the 2018 Total CAF Super Cup between Champions League winners Esperance Sportive de Tunis and Confederations Cup champions, Raja Club Athletic will be played in Qatar, AOIFootball.com reports.
“CAF executive committee decided that Total CAF Super Cup 2018 between Espérance Sportive de Tunis & Raja Club Athletic will be played in Qatar. The date and time will be announced later,” CAF said on Wednesday afternoon.
The announcement marks another milestone for the competition as it will be the first time a CAF competition will be played outside the continent, following the lead of the Italian Serie which also played the 2014 and 2016 Super Cup in Qatar.
The CAF Super Cup was originally scheduled to take place in Tunis, home ground of Esperance after the Tunisian club won the CAF Champions League.
