Super Eagles’ midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi could be forced to sit out his first Premier League game of the season following a knee injury he picked up in Tuesday’s Carabao Cup loss to Manchester City, reports.
Ndidi has featured in all 17 of Leicester City’s EPL games this season, starting 16 of them. He will be assessed before the clash as Puel does not want to risk the midfielder ahead of a busy festive period.
“We will see tomorrow if he can play or not. It’s about his knee, he received a fall against him. He finished the game, but with pain, so we’ll see if he can participate,” Puel said during his post match conference.
Kelechi Iheanacho on the hand could also get his chance to impress the Foxes manager against the Blues should Jamie Vardy fail to recover in time. Puel also admitted the England striker could miss Saturday’s clash.
Since beating the Blues in 2015 to win their historic EPL triumph, the Foxes have failed to win in any of their last seven meetings with Chelsea enjoying 5 wins in the process.
