Super Eagles’ and Villarreal of Spain forward, Samuel Chukwueze has confirmed interests from a host of Premier League clubs but he still remains committed to Villarreal despite the speculations surrounding his future, reports.
The 19-year-old just has less than seven months left on his current deal with the Yellow Submarines but already has a host of clubs vying for his signature should the Spanish outfit fail to convince him to sign a new deal in January.
The player himself, however, told exclusively, that they are interests from England but he could not really verify reports linking him with a switch to Atletico Madrid.
“Yes, I can confirm to you that there are a few interests from some top English clubs, but on the reports on Atletico Madrid, I’m not really sure about that.
“I have a contract here which expires in the summer and the club knows what to do. So, we will just keep our fingers crossed and see what happens before then. But for now, the focus remains to help the club win as many games as possible and return us back to the top half of the table,” Chukwueze said.
At just 19, the 2015 U-17 World Cup winner has already made a name for himself in Spain for Villarreal, churning out a series of impressive displays and has already scored four goals in all competitions in just nine starts.
He also made his international debut for Nigeria last month and looks set for a greater 2019 at the Africa Cup of Nations.
