Super Eagles’ Simy Nwankwo scored his 4th goal of the season for Crotone as they blew away a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 away at Ascoli to stretch their winless run to 11 games, reports.
With pressure mounting on Head Coach Massimo Oddo following Crotone’s abysmal form, Nwankwo was given a rare start and the forward duly made his presence felt by grabbing the game’s opener after just 9 minutes.
Marco Firenze then doubled Crotone’s lead seven minutes later to hand them a comfortable lead going into the half time break.
The home side did however pull a goal back just after the restart when Ricardo Brosco made it 2-1, before Giacomo Beretta equalised for the hosts two minutes from regulation time.
With both teams looking likely to share the points, Simone Ganz scored six minutes into additional time to complete an emphatic comeback but the player immediately got his marching orders for a second bookable offence.
The result thus comes as a setback for Crotone who now 18th on the log with 12 points after losing third straight league games.
