Super Eagles’ midfielder Kelechi Nwakali has expressed satisfaction after helping his Porto B side maintain their five-match unbeaten run in a 2-2 draw at home to Benfica B on Saturday, AOIFootball.com reports.
Nwakali, who impressed after starting his fourth league game for the B side, was however replaced in the 74th minute when Porto was still leading 2-1.
The 20-year-old posited afterward that he was satisfied with his outing and hopes for a better 2019, having started for the side in their first game of the New Year.
“It was a good game for us. I feel pained because we could not take all three points but that’s football; sometimes you win and other times you just settle for a draw. Hopefully, we can build on this result and get a win in our next game on Wednesday.
“It was good for me to start again after a while. I was happy with my performance and I hope to build on it for the remainder of the season,” Nwakali concluded.
Nwakali was not the only Nigerian on parade for the Portuguese giants as the duo of Chidozie Awaziem and Musa Yahaya also featured for the entire match duration.
