Super Eagles’ forward, Moses Simon was in fantastic form on Thursday night when Levante ended their four-match winless run to beat Barcelona 2-1 in the first leg round of 16 of the Spanish Copa del Rey, reports.
The 23-year-old started his third cup match and showed reasons why he deserves to get a chance in the league, displaying an all-round performance which saw him also track back to help the defence on several occasions.
First-half strikes from Erick Cabacco in the 4th minute and another from Borja Mayoral after 18 minutes set the time for an entertaining affair, with Levante maintaining their lead for a larger part of the match.
However, Philippe Coutinho ensured there will be plenty to play for in the second leg when he scored from twelve yards to half the deficit and Levante held on for a 2-1 win.
Moses will be hoping his performance was enough to keep his place for the visit of Atletico Madrid on Sunday. He had a game rating of 7.1, completed 75% of his passes, created one big chance and also completed four of his seven dribbles.
He also brought his defensive strength to the game as he won 9 duels, made one clearance, 3 interceptions and also completed two of his three tackles.
