Agu had a superb game against Benfica but was unlucky as his side lost 1-0 away from home
Super Eagles’ midfielder, Mikel Agu produced yet another impressive outing in the colours of Setubal as they fought back to earn a 1-1 draw away at the Estadio do Acos in Vila do Conde against Roi Ave, reports.
Setubal is currently going through their worst run of form having lost six of their last seven clashes coming into this one and Agu was deployed to sit deeper in the midfield as he earned his 12 starts of the season.
Despite holding the bulk of the possession, it was the host who struck first via the boots of Wenderson Galemo on the 27th minute to give Rio Ave a 1-0 half time lead.
The visitors then pushed for an equalizer in the second period and were duly rewarded six minutes from time when Hiderbero Pereira solo effort found it’s way into the net to earn Setubal their second successive draw in the league.
Agu, who played the entire duration of the match had a game rating of 7.2, completed 76% of his passes, won 6 duels, made two clearances and interceptions and also completed all three of his tackles.
The draw leaves Setubal on 11th position with 19 points from 17 games and they will next take on CD Aves on Sunday to try and earn their first win in 9 outings.
