Former CHAN Eagles defender, Emmanuel Ariwachukwu has said that Al-hilal are very much determined to do well in this season’s CAF Confederations Cup following their impressive start to the season across all competitions, reports.

The 25-year-old defender is yet to test defeat with Al-Hilal in seven league games this season and he further attributed their current run of form to hard work and determination from both the players and technical crew.

“The season is going on well for us; already we are top of the league and have not tasted defeat in any of our opening seven games. We have won six and drawn one. So for me, it’s a good start to the league.

“Obviously we want to do well on the continent because we are in the final round of the Confederations Cup qualification already. We won our first leg 3-0 and we hope to go away in the return leg and seal qualification,” he said.

The Super Eagles hopeful, however, posited that it’s too early to say if his side can win the CAF Confederations Cup, but believes they have a solid squad to challenge at all fronts.

Having won the first leg of their final qualifying round match against Rwanda’s Makura FC 3-0 in Omdurman, the team will travel to Rwanda for the second leg this weekend hoping to seal qualification into the group stage proper.
