Nigerian international, Junior Ajayi continued his impressive form since returning from injury as he scored what proved to be the winner for Al Ahly in their rescheduled matchday 13 clash away to ENPPI, reports.
Having scored in Saturday’s CAF Champions League win over Simba, the Nigerian led the line for the Egyptian giants at the Petro Sports Stadium in Cairo.
Ayman Ashraf gave the visitors the lead after 37 minutes before Ajayi then made it 2-0 in the second half, with his third goal in four starts for the Egyptian giants.
He was then replaced in the 76th minute with the points all but secured before Mahmoud Kaoud scored a late consolation for the hosts as Al Ahly held on for all three points.
The win sees Al Ahly close the gap at the top and are now third on the table with 36 points from 17 games and they still have four games in hand.
