Super Eagles’ defender, Chidozie Awaziem has rued his side chances after failing to pick all three points at home to Antalyaspor on Saturday afternoon but praised them for stretching the club’s unbeaten run to four games, AOIFootball.com reports.
The on-loan Porto defender started his second league game and gave the relegation survivals plenty of stability in the defence as Rizespor continued their impressive rise above the relegation zone.
“We wanted all three points but we got a point. The team was amazing and also the fans who came to support us, thanks to you all. We keep fighting till the end,” Awaziem posted afterward.
The 22-year-old completed his second successive 90 minutes and had an impressive game high of 15 clearances, winning 4 duels, 100% of his tackles and also completed 80% of his passes.
The results now see Rizespor move to 14th on the league table with 22 points from 14 games, two points adrift the drop zone as they continue to push for survival.
