Super Eagles’ duo of Henry Onyekuru and Anthony Nwakaeme helped set up goals for their teammates on Sunday as Galatasaray defeated Trabzonspor at the Turk Telekom Stadium in Istanbul, reports.

Both players were named in the starting XI for their respective clubs but it was Onyekuru who made the first impact when he was fouled inside the box to hand the hosts a golden chance from 12 yards.

New signing Mbaye Diagne stepped up and converted to make it 1-0 but the visitors soon leveled up nine minutes later when Nwakaeme fed Hugo Rodallega to score his 11th league goal of the season.

Younes Belhanda however restored Galatasaray’s lead just before half time it became 3-1 six minutes after the break and the champions closed the gap on leaders Basakeshir to six points.

Onyekuru and Nwakaeme did, however, play the entire duration of the match but it was Onyekuru who emerged tops on ratings with 7.0 whilst Nwakaeme had a rather disappointing game rating of 5.8.
