Super Eagles’ shot stopper, Daniel Akpeyi has expressed excitement after making his official debut for new club Kaizer Chiefs, describing it as an honour to be part of a great family, AOIFootball.com reports.
The Nigerian made a deadline day move to Kaizer Chiefs from Chippa United and immediately took to the field few days later in the Soweto derby as both teams shared the spoils with a series of eye catching performances.
“I feel honoured to be part of this family #amakoshi4life. I will walk tall and strong with confidence, even when it feels like I’mm alone at a point, but each time I remember, there was a dream that started years ago and they are thorns that one must go through to achive it.
“I press even further towards the mark because the thorns are surely the test that qualifies me to achieve what God has ordained beforehand. It is not meant for everyone, it’s only for those that have been destined for greatness. This is just a step to greater heights,” Akpeyi stated.
The former Warri Wolves goalkeeper joined Kaizer Chiefs on a 15-month deal as replacement for Khune who was ruled out for the rest of the season through injury.
