Turkish giants, Fenerbahce have identified 2016 Olympic bronze medalist, Aminu Umar as their primary target ahead of next season as they look to bounce back from a disastrous 2018/2019 season, reports.
Having acquired the services of Victor Moses for the next 18 months, Fenerbahce is hopeful of landing Umar who can also operate on all sides of the midfield and will be a perfect addition after four seasons in Turkey.
Umar is currently on loan to Caykur Rizespor from Osmanlispor and has just six months left on his current deal. With both parties not interested in a renewal the Nigerian will be available on a free transfer at end of the season.
They will, however, have to fight off Rizespor who have an option of making his transfer permanent and are ready to pay a compensation fee to Osmanlispor for the midfielder.
The Nigerian has been the key man for Rizespor this season, scoring 5 goals and adding four assists to move Rizespor four points off the drop zone.
The 23-year-old joined Osmanlispor in 2015 and was directly involved in 32 league goals in three seasons, scoring 20 and assisting 12 before joining Caykur Rizespor in the summer if 2018 following the relegation of his parent club.
It remains to be seen how the next few months will turn out for the midfielder turned winger who will definitely not by shy of transfer options.
