Nigerian forward, Simy Nwankwo scored his sixth league goal of the campaign as Crotone stunned third placed Palermo 3-0 at the Stadio Ezio Scida in Crotone to move within touching distance off the relegation zone, reports.
Having missed Saturday’s away clash to Brescia, the Nigerian started his 11th league game of the campaign, leading the hosts attack as they went in search of their fifth league win.
Marcus Rohden gave the hosts the lead in the 25th minute before Samuel Mraz doubled Crotone’s lead 12 minutes from time to put the game beyond the reach of the visitors who had no answer to their attack.
With the game heading into it’s final stages, Nwankwo made it 3-0 two minutes into added time when he converted from 12 yards to complete a resounding win for the host who remain in 17th place with 22 points from 25 matches.
The win will however come as a morale booster for Simy and his teammates who earn just their second win in 17 league outings.
