Super Eagles red-hot forward, Taiwo Awoniyi again grabbed the headlines for Royal Excel Mouscron as he scored in his fourth consecutive league match to help them to a 1-1 draw away at Standard Liege, AOIFootball.com reports.
The 21-years-old has been the talk of the Jupiler League and recently received a suspended fine by the league for his goal celebration, but the Liverpool loanee put that aside to stretch Mouscron’s unbeaten run to seven games.
After a goalless first 45 minutes, he host took the lead, 9 minutes after the restart when Razvan Marin made it 1-0 but Awonyi was on ground to level matters four minutes later after lashing on to a through ball by Selim Amallah before cooling converting beyond the goalkeeper.
The goal was Awoniyi’s sixth since arriving in the winter as both sides had to settle for the share of the points after 90 minutes.
The point helps Mouscron maintain their push for a playoff finish as they remain in 10th position with 36 points from 28 games.
