Super Eagles and Bordeaux of France forward, Samuel Kalu, has said that he is a happy man following the release of his mother from the dungeon of kidnappers, reports.
Mrs. Kalu was abducted by unknown gunmen last week Wednesday in Aba but was released after negotiations between the player’s family and the abductors on Tuesday afternoon.
Kalu, who confirmed the news to shortly after her release, posited that he can now focus on his football again as the situation got him worried and unstable to concentrate on the field of play.
The winger, however, declined to speak on the ransom paid but thanked everyone involved in the release of his mother, saying that the most important thing is that she is safe and sound.
The 22-year-old is expected to lead his Bordeaux side out later on Tuesday night when they face Montpellier in a rescheduled match day 27 league fixture with the host chasing their ninth victory of the campaign.
