Nigerian international, Michael Babatunde grabbed his fifth assist of the season and his second in four days as league leaders Wydad Athletic Club opened up an 18- point lead at the summit of the table in their 2-1 win over Moghreb Tétoun at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, reports.
Having impressed in Thursday’s win over Mouloudia Oujda, the Nigerian kept his place in the starting XI but both teams failed to find the breakthrough as the first half ended goalless.
The second half however sparked to life after just three minutes when Aymane El Hassouni put the hosts ahead with a well-taken header.
As the goal leaving both sides vulnerable at the back following a more attacking approach the visitors equalized in spectacular fashion four minutes after the hour mark when Mohamed Makaazi benefited from a careless clearance from the Wydad goalkeeper to fire home from well over 40 yards.
But the lead lasted for just two minutes as Babatunde set up Ismail El Haddad to head home what proved to be the match winner, much to the joy of the home fans.
