Super Eagles’ Head Coach, Gernot Rohr has handed FC Midtjylland forward, Paul Onuachu his first senior national team call up for this month’s clashes against Seychelles and Egypt respectively, can authoritatively confirm.
The Franco-German is said to have been impressed by the striker’s all-round play with Midtjylland this season with his goals very key for his team in their quest to claim the Danish League title ahead of Kobenhavn.
Onuachu’s invitation will however not come as a surprise to many who have followed the progress of the forward, as he remains the country’s top scorer in Europe this season, scoring 14 goals in the league for Midtjylland.
Onuachu is expected to offer stiff competition to fringe strikers Victor Osimhen who has also been in impressive form whilst Watford striker Isaac Success is another player the 24-year-old would have to do battle with ahead of both fixtures.
The invitation will further boost the stock of the forward who has been involved in 17 goals this season in just 19 starts, averaging 0.95 goal involvement per game.
