Mountain of Fire and Miracles FC coach, Fidelis Illechukwu believes his side has what it takes to clinch a continental ticket following their blistering start to the 2019 abridged league season, reports.
The Olukoya Boys top Group A after eight round of matches but Illechukwu, who also doubles as the Assistant Coach of the country’s U-23 team, posited that it is too early to begin to talk about the title as they remain focused on winning as many games as possible.
“The truth is that we did not set any particular target for ourselves at the beginning of the season but we are working very hard in our games and if at the end of the day we clinch the league, that would be a massive achievement but we want to return to the continent again.
“For me I believe the league is wide open for any team because the distance between the first and fifth is not much so a win or loss can take one team up the log or down depending on other results,” Illechukwu added.
MFM currently top Group A of the NPFL log with 18 points having won six of their opening eight games of the league.
