Nigerian forward, Anthony Nwakaeme scored for the third time in five days to help title chasers Trabzonspor record a 2-1 come back to win at home to relegation strugglers Akhisarspor, reports.
Having helped salvage a point in their 2-2 draw against Kasimpasa on Monday, the 29-year-old kept his place in the starting XI but both team’s failure to find the net in what was a rather uneventful first 45 minutes.
The visitors eventually broke the deadlock five minutes after the hour mark when Congolese forward Jeremy Bokila tapped into an empty net after an electrifying counter-attack which left the Trabzonspor defense well exposed.
Nwakaeme did, however, restore parity five minutes later when he showed strength and composure to tuck home from five yards for his seventh league goal of the season before captain Jose Sosa completed the comeback 14 minutes from time when he netted from the penalty spot to hand the home side all three points.
Nwakaeme did play for the entire match duration and had a game rating of 7.7, completing 77% of his passes, making 1 key pass and also winning 5 of his duels.
The win puts 4th placed Trabzonspor on 40 points, six points behind second-placed Galatasaray.
