Super Eagles midfielder, Semi Ajayi was again the hero for Championship team, Rotherham United as they earned their first away win of the season after defeating Queens Park Rangers 2-1, reports.
The free-scoring defender- turned midfielder started his 37th consecutive league appearance for the visitors, marshaling the midfield in a 4-1-4-1 formation for the relegation survival hopefuls.
After a goalless first 45 minutes, Ajayi put the visitors ahead with a powerful drive on the 71st minute when his fierce shot from outside the box flew past everyone and straight into the net to send the traveling fans into ecstasy. It was his fifth league goal of the season.
But with five minutes of regulation time left, fellow Nigerian Bright Osayi-Samuel equalized for the hosts when a Nahki Wells cross fell to the 21-year-old and he guided the ball past the goalkeeper.
However, more drama ensued as the tall and lanky Ajayi made full advantage if his height when he headed home Anthony Forde cross five minutes into stoppage time to give his side all three points.
The victory keeps Rotherham in 22nd position with 36 points from 37 games, one point away from 19th placed Millwall in their quest for survival in the Championship.
