Nigeria’s Anthony Nwakaeme scored for the third consecutive game to help Trabzonspor to a 1-0 win over BB Erzurumspor which also had Samuel Eduok in action at the Kazim Karabekir Stadium, reports.
The former Hapoel Be’er Sheva star started his 17th league game of the season as they consolidated their hold on the final European qualification.
After a goalless first half which saw both sides host the bar, the big ball playing forward scored the all-important goal after exchanging passes with Caleb Ekubam before going on his trademark run and then slotting past the goalkeeper to earn the visitors all three points.
The goal was Nwakaeme’s eight of the season whilst the victory keeps Trabzonspor on 4th position with 43 points from 26 games but a distant 14 points behind league leaders Istanbul Basaksehir in the race for the title.
