Former U-17 world cup winning forward, Orji Okwonkwo scored his first goal for Major League Soccer side, Montreal Impact as they defeated Orlando City 3-0 at the Orlando City Stadium, reports.
The 21-year-old joined the MLS team on loan from Italian side Bologna and started his third league game as the visitors went in search of their second victory of the season.
The U-23 invitee, however, put his side ahead with the games first clear cut chance when a deflected cut-back found him unmarked before he fired low beyond the goalkeeper to give the visitors a 1-0 lead on 14 minutes.
The goal threw open the game and Montreal were two up 50 seconds later when captain Ignacio Piatti converted to make it 2-0.
The Nigerian was then taken off in the second half after picking up a yellow card before Ignacio Piatti completed his brace 10 minutes from time to hand Montreal all three points.
The forward, who had an impressive game rating of 7.6, will now turn his attention to this weeks AFCON U-23 qualifier against Libya as he makes a return to the national team.
