Super Eagles’ defender, Kenneth Omeruo has urged his teammates to give the Asaba fans something to cheer about when they take to the pitch against the Pirates of Seychelles on match day six of the AFCON qualifiers, reports.
The Leganes defender who has re-established himself as an important figure in the Eagles’ back line, stressed the need for a first win on the turf following November’s goalless draw against Uganda.
“No match is an easy game as you know but we are well prepared for the match and want to ensure we finish the group as winners.
“Most importantly we also want to win for the fans here in Asaba; the last time against Uganda we drew and I believe they deserve the euphoria of seeing their national team score, so we will go all out to play for them and indeed all Nigerians,” Omeruo concluded.
Already qualified Nigeria host Seychelles at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba on Friday evening. Kickoff time is 4pm local time.
