Nigeria’s Olympic team, the Dream Team will take on Sudan in the third and final round of the AFCON U-23 Championship qualifier slated for Egypt in November, AOIFootball.com reports.
Having been drawn bye in the first round, the Imama Amapakabo- led boys were pitted against Libya in the second round but suffered a shock 2-0 first leg loss in Tunis before walloping them 4-0 in the second leg in Asaba on Monday afternoon.
On their part, the Sudanese U-23 side eliminated Seychelles 2-1 on aggregate in the first round before also going on to knock out Kenya 2-0 on aggregate after holding the East Africans to a goalless draw in the second leg.
Both teams will now clash in the third and final round slated for the weekend of June 3-11, with the Sudanese hosting the first leg in Ombudsman on June 5 before the return leg four days later in Nigeria.
The winner of the tie over both legs will advance to the tournament proper which will take place in Egypt from November 8-22.
The Dream Team are currently standing as the defending champions having won the tournament four years ago in Senegal.
