Nigerian forward, Austin Amutu was the hero for the second consecutive match for Egyptian side Al-Masry as he scored what proved to be the winner in their 2-1 home win against second-placed Zamalek, AOIFootball.com reports.
Both sides came into the clash with an impressive unbeaten streak and the 26-year-old was given the nod to lead the line for the hosts as they sought to stretch their unbeaten run to 12 games.
Islam Abou Selema then opened the scoring for the home side five minutes to half time before Amutu doubled the lead three minutes before the hour mark to make it 2-0 to record his fourth goal since joining in January.
Mahmoud Alaa Eldin then scored from the spot deep into extra time to grab a late consolation as Al-Masry ended Zamalek 10 games Unbeaten run.
The win lifts Al-Masry to fourth on the log with 45 points but remains 12 points off Continental places with just three games left in the league.
