Super Eagles and Paderborn of Germany left-back, Jamilu Collins has said it has been an amazing season for him at both club and national team levels and hopes to end it in style with a promotion ticket to the Bundesliga, reports.
The 24-year-old, who was on from start to finish in FC Paderborn’s 2-1 win over Holstein Kal at the weekend, told exclusively from his base in Germany, that they remain committed to finishing the league on a high with just four games left.
“For me it’s has been a tough and challenging season all round; we set a goal of getting a promotion ticket at the beginning of the season and I think we are almost there but we must remain focused for the remainder of the league games,” Collins said.
On the national team and his chances of making the final squad to Egypt, the former Abuja Academy youth product believes that staying fit ahead of the competition remains his primary target.
“Obviously, it was an amazing season with the national team since my invitation in September. It has been a learning curve and I just want to remain fit ahead of the competition and help the team to success,” Jamilu added.
With 30 league games under his kitty and featuring in six of the Eagles’ seven games since making his debut against Liberia in an international friendly last September, the left back looks certain to be on the plane to Egypt already.
