Former MFM forward, Stephen Odey was on target for FC Zürich as they lost 3-1 at home to FC Basel in the semifinals of the Switzerland Schweizer Cup, reports.
Playing at the Letzigrund in Zurich, the hosts were hoping to reach yet another cup final after clinching the trophy last season.
But their hopes of a second successive final suffered an early blow when Noah Okafor put Basel 1-0 up after just five minutes before two late second-half strikes from Zdravko Kuzmanovic and Albian Ajeti put the tie beyond Zürich.
Odey, however, grabbed a late consolation four minutes into added time after being set up by Antonio Marchesano with Basel edging the match 3-1.
Odey has now scored 14 goals in all competitions but will now turn his attention to helping his side overturn their poor run of form which has seen them become a candidate for relegation after losing five of their last six league games.
