Former Super Eagles winger, Mutiu Adepoju believes the current form of Leganes of Spain defender, Kenneth Omeruo would be very vital for Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations, even as he hailed the defender for his impressive debut season in Spain, reports.
Having played and understood the nomenclature of the Spanish game, the former Real Sociedad winger told that the player has shown that he has the ability to succeed at the topmost level.
“I’m so happy that Omeruo is playing very well in the Spanish League. He has shown how good a player he is and I believe if given the opportunity he can play very well in the top clubs.
“His form will also be a good one for the country towards AFCON because we need the best players to represent us and do the country proud,” Adepoju concluded.
Omeruo, 25, has been a solid rock for Leganes as his impressive displays moved the club from the bottom of the table. He has also started all 24 games since making his debut against Rayo Vallecano last October.
