Super Eagles forward, Henry Onyekuru has declared himself battle ready for the remainder of Galatasaray’s league game this season, even as the player believes his side can clinch a domestic double, reports.
Already the fans’ favorite in Istanbul, the 21-year-old told exclusively from his base in Turkey that he and his teammates are motivated to ensure they deliver on both fronts to their loving fans.
Nicknamed the ‘Lion Flash’ and ‘Kuru Euro’ the Everton loanee now wants to take every game as it comes, beginning with Saturday’s league clash away at Caykur Rizespor.
“For us now every game is like a final; we are level on points with Istanbul Basaksehir and we must not afford to drop any point before the end of the season.
“Saturday’s game won’t be an easy one but I believe we have what it takes to claim all three points,” Onyekuru said.
The 21-year-old however expressed joy in facing fellow Nigerians Chidozie Awaziem, Azubuike Okechukwu and Aminu Umar but stated that there would be no friendly meeting when both teams take to the pitch.
First placed Galatasaray travel to the Caykur Didi Stadium needing to match or better Basaksehir’s result to maintain their grip at the top of the Turkish Super Lig table.
