Super Eagles forward, Odion Jude Ighalo has offered the country a huge boost ahead of next month’s Africa Cup of Nations after revealing he is progressing well from an injury he sustained 10 days ago, AOIFootball.com can authoritatively confirm.
In an exclusive chat with AOIFootball.com, the former Watford of England forward revealed he has been doing well in the gym and will start running on the pitch on Thursday.
“Still working in the gym, for now, I have progressed well with the injury and would start running on the pitch on Thursday.
“Although there is no particular date for me to return yet, I will be back very soon,” Ighalo said.
The news will come as huge relief for Shanghai Shenhua who suffered a disappointing 3-1 home loss to Shandong Luneng last weekend and will hope to have the Nigerian back in time for their cup game against Chongqing SWM next Wednesday before he joins up with Nigeria for the Nations Cup.
The Nigerian has so far scored 7 goals in 9 league games for the Shanghai-based club who currently sit on 12th with 8 points from 10 games.
