Agu had a superb game against Benfica but was unlucky as his side lost 1-0 away from home

Super Eagles midfielder, Mikel Agu signed off the 2018/2019 Portuguese Primera Liga season in style as he produced a man of the match display in Vitoria Setubal’s 1-3 home loss against Rio Ave, reports.

The on-loan Porto midfielder only returned to action a fortnight ago and followed up last weekend’s assist with yet another inspiring display despite the failure of his team to secure all three points on the final day of the season.

According to Portuguese statistical site goal point, the 25-year-old completed 8 interceptions against Rio Ave and was by far Setubal’s best player on the pitch with a game rating of 7.1.

The Nigerian also completed 93% of his passes, made 3 clearances and also 3 of his 4 tackles.

Agu, who was placed on standby by Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr for the 2019 AFCON in Egypt, featured 17 times for Setubal this term, scoring once and also chipping in two assists to help the club finish 13th on the log.
